Exemplary cases: Mechanical Heart Valve

A 3D unsteady Fluid-Structure-Interaction (FSI) simulation of the hemodynamics through an opening aortic, bileaflet Mechanical Heart Valve (MHV) was performed. The FSI problem was solved by applying the Immersed Boundary Method (IBM). Using the computational results, stresses and forces on the leaflets were quantified.
